News: Ocean Ice Hockey Falls to Ramapo in State Tournament
3/2/10: Entering the state tournament as the 27th seed, Ocean Ice was unable to overcome 6th seed Ramapo in their "Public B" first-round game at Sport-O-Rama in Monsey, N.Y. Though the Spartans fell 6-1, ending their inaugural season, they claimed victory by means of their hard work and dedication in the founding of the ice hockey program at OTHS.
Final Regular Season Game of First Season
2/23/10: The Ocean Ice Hockey team wrapped up its highly successful regular season with a 6-4 loss against Toms River East. The team's record of 11 wins, 7 losses and 3 ties qualified it for the state championship tournament - a remarkable achievement for a first year program.
Three Wins in a Row for Ocean Ice Hockey
2/18/10: OTHS ice hockey strung together its longest win streak of the season with 3 consecutive wins from Feb. 13th through Feb. 18th. First up was a 3-1 victory over Red Bank Regional, then another 3-1 score versus Hamilton West the next day, and capped off with a 7-0 scoring barrage against Monroe.
Ocean Ice Ties it Up... Twice
2/4/10: Ocean Ice Hockey led off February with a pair of tie games. The first was a hard fought 1-1 draw against JP Stevens on 2/2, followed by a repeat of the same score vs. Manasquan on 2/4. The hockey Spartans team record now stands at 8W, 6L, and 3T for this, their first season.
OTHS Varsity Ice Hockey Scores Win
1/30/10: A very active second period in which Ocean Ice Hockey scored three goals against Lawrence HS pushed the team to its 8th win of the season. The final score was 5-2.

Ocean Ice Hockey Victorious
1/21/10: Ocean Ice Hockey earned its second victory of the season against fellow independent league team Jackson Liberty by a score of 6-2. The win improves Ocean's record to 7-5-1.
Ocean Ties Game with Dramatic Ending
1/14/10: After quiet first and second periods for Ocean Ice Hockey, the team scored two goals in the third period to end their game against Nottingham in a 2-2 tie. Ocean's second goal, which tied the game, came with less than 1-second remaining on the clock.
Ocean Ice Hockey to Hang Jersey at Devils Arena
1/12/10: The Ocean HS Ice Hockey Team will have its team jersey hung up at the Prudential Center in a ceremony prior to the 7pm Devils vs. Maple Leafs game on Friday, 1/29.
Anticipated ceremony time is between 5 and 6pm; an exact time will be confirmed at the earliest opportunity. A contingent of team members, family, friends and fans will be in attendance. Ocean Ice Hockey Wins Again
1/7/10: Ocean Ice Hockey extended its record to 5W-3L with a 12-4 win over Edison tonight. The game was highlighted by two Ocean players scoring hat tricks.
Victory & Winning Record
1/3/10: The Ocean Varsity Ice Hockey team won for a 4th time, bringing its record to 4-3 with a defeat of West Windsor South. Scoreless first and third periods for both teams were contrasted with a second period in which Ocean scored 3 times and WWS once.
Ocean Ice Wins Against RBR
12/17/09: Ocean Ice gained their third win of the season with a 6-1 victory over Red Bank Regional, to improve the first year team's record to 3-2 overall.
Ocean Ice Defeats Freehold Twp.
12/15/09: The Ocean Ice Hockey Spartans earned their second win of the season by beating Freehold Twp. 4-3 in an action packed game that saw Freehold take 45 shots on goal. The victory evens the team record at 2 wins and 2 losses.
First Regular Season Victory
12/5/09: Ocean Ice Hockey defeated Jackson Liberty HS 7-2 in the second game of the season to gain its first victory in the inaugural 2009 season. The team scored 7 unanswered goals after being down 2-0 early in the first period.
First Regular Season Game
12/3/09: Congratulations Ocean Ice Hockey on your first game in the program's history! Ocean Ice Hockey played its first regular season game 12/3 vs. Toms River East HS. The team played a great game, scoring 2 goals late in the 3rd period, but falling short by 1 in a 4-3 loss.
Pre-Season
11/24/09: Ocean Ice Hockey's inaugural season began with a scrimmage on 11/24, against JP Stevens in Dunellen. A great effort but we lost by a goal 5-4. Our next scrimmage 11/28, vs. Wall HS, was a 12-4 victory.

Ocean Ice Meets the Devil
8/12/09: Members of first OTHS Varsity ice hockey team gain support from the New Jersey Devils mascot at the Ocean Township Italian American Festival. The skating Spartans hit the ice in November, and the pay-to-play team is seeking inaugural season sponsorships at all levels.

OTHS Ice Hockey Coach Appointed
6/21/09: Welcome Dave Smith , recently announced as our OTHS ice hockey coach. Dave brings 10-years coaching experience at the high school level to our fledgling program.
